The KATARA Cultural Village is the largest and the most prominent cultural project of Qatar, created to keep pace with the emerging global culture that emphasizes the importance of diversity in human development. It is a place where people come together to experience the cultures around the world. With theatres, concert halls, exhibition galleries and cutting-edge facilities, KATARA aims to become the leader for multi-cultural activities.

The main development is a revision to the Master Plan for the South Plaza Area at the KATARA Project. The scope consists of the construction of Basement Car Park, Office and F&B Retail Buildings, a Planetarium and Observatory, a Day Hotel and the complete Landscaping Works.

The Planetarium is equipped with a 215pax. interactive seats with built-in bass speakers for vibration and motion elements synchronized with the planetarium shows. The Astronomical Functionality of the facility is a well presented catalog of major astronomy with historical data to create the most accurate star database with its sophisticated digital system. Not less than 100,000 stars in a 3-D spheroid is projected on a 22m diameter Dome controlled by specialized lighting and sound systems.    

Additional amenities include Exhibition Halls, Libraries, Galleries, Restaurants, Cafes and Souvenir Shops which form the integral core of the building.

Ten Office and F&B Retail Buildings equipped with complete support facilities encompass the majority of the development, with a specially designed Day Hotel with viewing terraces that maximize the sea view of the Persian Gulf.

Urban Art Installations commissioned from renown artists around the world give prominence to the landscaped areas throughout the park, bringing in the diversity of culture and perpetuity of science.

The external works include all Infrastructure, Roadworks and Landscaping with Water Features to create a metropolitan oasis in the center of Doha.
